Keep in mind the way the following factors may affect the quality of your cup of coffee:
1 |
Freshness of grind: Once you grind your coffee, its quality begins to deteriorate rapidly. This is why we only deliver whole bean coffee. Blade grinders are an economical way to grind your coffee, but if you want to get serious about getting a consistent, correct grind to suit your brewing method you should invest in a burr grinder. Read our blog post on grinding basics.

Cleanliness of equipment: Whatever brewing method you use, be sure that you clean it regularly or else the final product may suffer.

Ratio of coffee to water: One heaping tablespoon to five ounces of water is a good starting point, but adjust to taste.
Proper brewing techniques: Be sure you know how to operate your brewing apparatus to perfection. If you use a drip machine, use a medium grind and cold water. If you brew with a French Press, use a coarse grind and water that's just below boiling, steeping the grounds for four minutes.
